DOORS & LOCKS
Y'all. I have spent a gross amount of time looking at locks and doors for the house on the internet. I did reward myself to a trip to Lowes, but they had a better selection online to order. Of course I want something that no one really seems to have stock in and tends to be more expensive than a normal door knob, but whatever. I also really wanted a fancy set from Schlage, but it's just too much to justify right now for three exterior doors. (We have it bookmarked for when we want to upgrade!)
So this is what we have settled on for style and price for the Main House. We plan on updating the Main House with keeping the blue metal roof and white siding, but bringing out the shape and elements by adding black. I was surprised when Aaron was 100% down to paint our front and back doors black along with our trim and windows.
For the interior, we want a bright white door with the black knobs. Aaron really wanted handles, but who knew they would be about $35 per knob? Knobs are fine and we can upgrade when we are rich.
FUN FACT: We found out that Lowes will rekey all the things if you buy from them for free to the same key. That was a huge factor when buying from them versus buying off of Amazon. Lowes or any other hardware store would not be allowed to rekey a deadbolt or knob in the state of NC unless purchased from their store. Against the law. We bit the bullet on the dead bolts and keyed entry knobs from Lowes and saved a shit ton by buying the non-key related knobs from amazon.
